FantasoFest returns to Bogotá for its fifth edition with immersive program
Bogotá will host the fifth edition of FantasoFest, the independent festival that has become the hub of fantasy, horror and science‑fiction culture in Colombia. The four‑day event will feature film screenings, a short‑film competition, and a slate of interactive experiences such as virtual‑reality zones, an illustration market and panels with international guests.
Organisers received more than 300 submissions worldwide and have chosen works that use speculative storytelling to address complex realities, emphasizing a theme of "Latin American urban mythology." Highlights include a masterclass on visual effects by a Hollywood‑linked expert, a round‑table on the future of Colombian sci‑fi literature, and a midnight marathon for genre fans. The festival will take place at the Cinemateca de Bogotá, Teatro Jorge Eliécer Gaitán and other cultural venues, with tickets sold as full‑event passes or single‑day entries, and discounts available for students. Some midnight screenings will be restricted to audiences over 18.
