Fantasy franchises and major streaming series set for late 2026 releases

Major fantasy franchises and streaming series are scheduled for release throughout late 2026 and 2027. Notable upcoming titles include Marvel’s VisionQuest on Disney+ in October, the return of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power on Prime Video in November, and a new Harry Potter series on HBO Max starting December 25.

Other significant releases include Netflix’s Narnia: The Magician’s Nephew in February 2027 and Warner Bros.’ The Hunt for Gollum in December 2027. The resurgence of these fantasy worlds has prompted discussions regarding the cultural and spiritual themes of wonder, sacrifice, and morality inherent in such storytelling.
