Fanuc launches program to align CNC machines and CAD/CAM workflows

Fanuc Corporation has launched the 5-Axis Integrated Technology Initiative, a program designed to align CNC machines, post-processors, CAD/CAM software, and simulation environments. The initiative aims to help machine-tool manufacturers and CAD/CAM companies improve part quality and production speed by adopting standardized machining best practices.

According to Rick Schultz, executive director of the aerospace segment at Fanuc America, the program seeks to modernize workflows that have historically relied on machine-specific programming. By moving toward machine-agnostic processes, the initiative intends to reduce the time and cost associated with manual calculations and outdated programming methods for complex multi-axis movements.
