FAPMAE Regional 07 supports continuity of school teaching hours

The Federation of Associations of Parents, Mothers, and Friends of Schools (FAPMAE) Regional 07, alongside parent associations from Educational Districts 07-05 and 07-06, has expressed support for the Dominican Republic's Ministry of Education (MINERD) in its efforts to ensure the school calendar and daily teaching hours are maintained.

In a formal statement presented by Nelson Paulino and Fernando Hiciano, the organizations expressed concern regarding any potential reduction in class schedules. They warned that they would pursue legal and institutional channels to protect the students' right to the established educational jornada. The FAPMAE emphasized that students should not be used as instruments of pressure in conflicts between adults.

While acknowledging the right of teachers and their organizations to present grievances, the FAPMAE stated that such differences should be resolved through dialogue and negotiation rather than measures that disrupt the school year. The group called on parent associations nationwide to remain vigilant in defending the continuity of teaching.
