Far Eastern University student films selected for FDCP Film Education Convention

Three short films from the Far Eastern University (FEU) Department of Communication have been selected for the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) 2nd Film Education Convention. The event, held as part of the Philippine Film Industry Month 2026 celebration, takes place from September 25 to 26 at De La Salle University Manila.

The featured works include “Where the Cave Ends,” directed by Nix Vergara, which follows a journalist investigating the disappearance of a military colonel. The film has previously participated in the 16th Binisaya International Film Festival and is scheduled for the Sine Sampaloc Film Festival 2026.

Also featured is “Kahel,” directed by Garnet Morilla Llames, a musical film about a worker pursuing a music career in the city. “Kahel” has received multiple awards at FEU’s Sinepiyu XVIII and was a finalist at the 38th Cultural Center of the Philippines Gawad Alternatibo and the FAMAS Short Film Festival. A third film, “Ani,” is also part of the selection.
