Fardis urban train project construction to begin in Alborz

Construction of the first phase of the Fardis urban train project is scheduled to officially begin early next week in Alborz Province. The 10.2-kilometer route will extend from Shahid Soltani Bridge Station to the Malard city parking area.

This project aims to connect the Fardis urban rail network with the Tehran metro system, facilitating easier transit for the approximately one million residents of the densely populated area. The first phase includes the construction of a 3,300-meter tunnel from Shahid Soltani Bridge Station to the Fardis Central Municipality building.

Three stations are planned for this phase, with the station opposite the Fardis Central Municipality designed to be fully operational for passengers. Two additional stations, Sarhadabad and Anbar Naft, are currently at 60% completion. The estimated timeline for the first phase is 39 months, with a budget of approximately 4,200 billion Tomans for construction and 15 million Euros for equipment.
