Fares Ghedjemis Attracts £8‑15m Bidding War Between Celtic and Rangers
Celtic manager Martin O’Neill confirmed that the Scottish champions have a "very strong interest" in Frosinone winger Fares Ghedjemis and are actively negotiating a deal, though no agreement has been reached yet. Rangers are also reported to be pursuing the 23‑year‑old, creating a rare Glasgow bidding war for the player.
Ghedjemis helped Frosinone secure promotion to Serie A with 15 goals and three assists in 37 games and has a contract running until June 2028. His transfer value has reportedly doubled since January, with current asking prices cited at around €15 million (approximately £8 million). Celtic’s earlier offer of about €7.5 million was rejected, and the player chose to stay at Frosinone to win the league. Both clubs are now lining up offers as the winger’s market value rises.
The interest underscores Celtic’s intent to strengthen their wide areas for the upcoming season, while Rangers aim to bolster their attacking options. The outcome could see a significant financial outlay for either Scottish club and a major step forward in Ghedjemis’s career.
