Farhan Akhtar sparks speculation over Ranveer Singh Don 3 exit

Filmmaker Farhan Akhtar has sparked speculation regarding a potential rift with actor Ranveer Singh following comments made during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter India. While discussing the production of his debut film, Dil Chahta Hai, Akhtar recalled how Saif Ali Khan nearly exited the project due to scheduling conflicts just ten days before filming began.

Akhtar remarked that such last-minute departures “seem to be a pattern nowadays,” a comment many observers interpreted as a subtle reference to Singh’s recent exit from the film Don 3. Singh reportedly left the production just weeks before the planned shoot, leading to a reported ₹45 crore compensation claim from makers for pre-production losses.

The Don 3 controversy previously involved a non-cooperation directive from the Federation of Western India Cine Employees against Singh, though the directive was lifted after he issued a legal notice. Singh has not publicly commented on the dispute, with his spokesperson stating he maintains “immense respect for the film fraternity.”
