Farhod Rakhimzoda reportedly dies in Russian prison

Former mixed martial arts fighter Farhod Rakhimzoda, known by the nickname ‘Tiger Eye’, has reportedly died while in custody in Russia. While Russian media outlets have reported the death of the 33-year-old, authorities have not yet officially confirmed the event or disclosed a cause or date of death.

Rakhimzoda was serving a 23-year prison sentence following an October 2025 conviction for the January 2024 murders of 39-year-old Olga Yaroslavtseva and her five-year-old daughter in Novosibirsk. Prosecutors stated the killings were motivated by financial gain after Rakhimzoda, who worked as a taxi driver, learned that Yaroslavtseva had received a substantial inheritance.

Investigators determined that Rakhimzoda targeted the victims after meeting Yaroslavtseva through his taxi service. He was accused of driving the mother and child to an isolated location, killing them, and stealing cash, a mobile phone, and a vehicle valued at approximately 5.5 million Russian roubles.
