Farianda Putra Sinik declares candidacy for PWI Sumut chairmanship

Farianda Putra Sinik has officially declared his intention to run for a second term as the chairman of the Indonesian Journalists Association (PWI) in North Sumatra for the 2026–2031 period. The declaration took place on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, in Medan.

During the event, Sinik emphasized a leadership philosophy based on the Batak term “Parhobas,” which translates to servant. He stated that his candidacy is driven by a desire to serve the organization and continue the work started during his previous term, including strengthening the organization, improving journalist competence, and maintaining professional integrity amidst media disruption.

The declaration received support from numerous senior journalists, media owners, and leaders of press organizations, including figures such as Anton Panggabean, Proklamasi Naibaho, and Khairul Muslim. Sinik called for a peaceful election process, urging participants to maintain unity and avoid defamation during the upcoming conference.
