Farida footwear factory labor dispute reaches impasse

Negotiations regarding the Farida footwear factory in Chiusi have reached an impasse following a regional meeting. The company has reportedly refused to offer even partial financial compensation to its workers, preventing a formal agreement between the parties.

In addition to the lack of settlement, the Filctem Cgil union highlighted a bureaucratic delay that threatens employee welfare. Although the Ministry of Labor authorized the Extraordinary Wage Guarantee Fund (Cassa Integrazione Straordinaria) on July 31, the request for direct payment has not yet been formalized with INPS. This delay is expected to postpone social safety net payments for workers already facing significant uncertainty.

The union criticized the company's conduct, stating that the company's actions contradict its public claims of supporting employee interests. With institutional deadlines set for August 27, a technical crisis meeting has been scheduled for Thursday at the Tuscany Region headquarters, involving CEO Valerio Fabiani.
