Farm equipment fires cause barn blazes in northern France

In Offin, Pas‑de‑Calais, a combine harvester ignited a fire that spread to straw bales and an agricultural building on the morning of 2 August 2026. Firefighters from Hesdin, Fruges and Montreuil were deployed to contain the blaze and prevent it from reaching nearby structures.

A separate incident occurred on 3 August 2026 in Gentelles, Somme, where a tractor fire quickly engulfed a hangar housing about twenty cattle. Emergency crews rescued the animals, treated a slightly burned owner who was taken to the Amiens hospital, and stopped the fire from spreading to an adjacent building.
