Farm field blaze in Elsenfeld, Germany, and house fire in Timelkam, Austria, highlight multiple fire incidents

A grain field near Elsenfeld in Germany ignited on June 25, spreading over nearly a kilometre and covering several football‑field sized acres. Thick black smoke was visible for kilometres. Firefighters, assisted by local farmers and a drone with thermal imaging, prevented the fire from reaching a nearby farm. One firefighter suffered a broken hand and was hospitalised. The cause remained unknown.

In Timelkam, Austria, a 77‑year‑old farm owner inadvertently left two grave candles burning on a wooden table, causing a bedroom‑level fire. A passing driver alerted the fire brigade, which extinguished the blaze within about 25 minutes. No one was injured, though the nearby B151 road was partially closed for two hours.

A separate incident occurred in St. Aegyd, Austria, where a farmer‑firefighter noticed smoke from his own round‑bale press. He shut down the machine and called the volunteer fire service, which quickly extinguished the fire and prevented any spread. No injuries were reported.
