Farm Progress Show highlights new agricultural technology

The 2026 Farm Progress Show in Boone, Iowa, showcased significant technological advancements in the agricultural sector, focusing on automation, artificial intelligence, and precision machinery.

AGCO brands Fendt and Massey Ferguson unveiled new planter technologies. Fendt introduced the Momentum planter, designed for large-scale operations to increase productivity, with availability in the US and Canada starting in Summer 2027. Massey Ferguson debuted its N-Series split/narrow row planters, which feature factory-installed PTx precision planting technology, including the 20|20 Gen3 agronomic mapping system and DeltaForce automated hydraulic downforce control.

John Deere presented JD, an AI assistant designed to help farmers analyze machine, field, and operational data through conversational queries. Additionally, the show highlighted the growing use of DJI agricultural drones for aerial applications, such as weed identification and spot spraying, allowing for more targeted chemical application in fields.
