TV 2 reality shows face updates and viewer backlash
TV 2 has launched new seasons for two of its major reality programs, though the premiere of ‘Farmen’ has met with significant viewer backlash. The 21st season of ‘Farmen’, hosted by Victor Sotberg, features a revamped concept that emphasizes social maneuvering and power dynamics over traditional farm work. Viewers on social media have criticized the changes, stating the new format feels unrecognizable and lacks the historical authenticity expected of the series.
In contrast, the sixth season of ‘Forræder’ is preparing to debut with 23 new participants. Following a highly successful previous season that won a Gullruten award, this new iteration will introduce new roles and increased difficulty. Program editor Trygve Rønningen noted that the season will include secret missions and a new element where viewers are also invited to join the hunt for the traitors.
