Farmer Adem Arslan creates art using hazelnuts in Ordu

Adem Arslan, a 38-year-old farmer in the Altınordu district of Ordu, Turkey, has turned his hazelnut harvest into a form of seasonal art. Using both shelled and fresh hazelnuts spread across his threshing floor, Arslan creates intricate figures including the Turkish flag, the crescent and star, and a map of Turkey.

Arslan began this practice approximately 10 years ago. He describes the process as highly demanding, noting that while it may appear simple, it requires significant patience and precision because the nuts tend to shift, which can ruin the shapes. Each figure typically takes about an hour to complete.

Arslan shares time-lapse videos of his work on social media, where they have garnered significant interest. He intends to continue this tradition, planning to experiment with new and different figures in the coming years.
