Farmer in Saro dies after bull attack and hospital infection

A 58-year-old livestock farmer from Llerana, in the municipality of Saro, has died following an attack by one of his own bulls. The incident occurred on August 6 when the man released the animal to drink water, at which point it attacked him.

Although the victim managed to tie up the animal, he was unable to leave the area on his own. He was eventually discovered by his brother, a local councilman, who became concerned when the man did not begin milking the family's 80 head of cattle as usual.

The farmer was treated by emergency services and transferred to the Hospital Universitario Marqués de Valdecilla. While his condition initially improved, he subsequently contracted a bacterial infection while in the intensive care unit, which ultimately led to his death after two weeks of hospitalization.
