Farmers protest in Pollachi by spilling milk over price demands

Dairy farmers near Pollachi, Coimbatore, staged a protest by pouring hundreds of litres of milk onto the road at the Mappilai Goundan Pudur procurement center. The demonstrators are demanding that the Tamil Nadu government increase the milk procurement price to Rs. 50 per litre.

Protesters expressed dissatisfaction with a recent government incentive increase of only Rs. 1, stating it is insufficient to cover the rising costs of cattle fodder. Farmers noted that they are facing continuous losses and compared their situation to neighboring Kerala, where procurement prices reach up to Rs. 53 per litre. They also raised concerns regarding the implementation of crop loan waivers.
