Faro and Esposende municipalities to give free primary school activity books
The Faro municipality in Portugal will provide free school activity booklets to all students in the first to fourth grades for the 2026‑27 academic year, investing about €123,001 in the program. The initiative aims to lessen family expenses and promote equal access to educational resources.
Similarly, the Esposende municipality will supply free activity books to more than 1,400 primary‑school pupils for the same school year, allocating roughly €65,000. Esposende will use a fully digital distribution system via the SIGA platform and offers a reimbursement process for families who purchase the books directly. Both measures are presented as part of the towns' broader strategies to support inclusive, quality education and reduce household costs at the start of the school term.
