Faro de San Marco solar park begins operations in Ecuador
The Faro de San Marco solar park has officially commenced commercial operations in the Santa Elena province of Ecuador. Developed by Lighthouse, a subsidiary of Grupo DIFARE, the project represents a total investment of 50 million USD.
The facility spans 122 hectares and utilizes more than 105,000 high-efficiency bifacial photovoltaic panels. With an installed capacity of 82 MWp, the park is capable of meeting approximately 40% of the energy demand for the Santa Elena province. The project is expected to prevent the emission of 41,000 tons of CO2 annually.
In its initial phase, the infrastructure will support the operations of commercial entities such as Corporación El Rosado and DIFARE S.A. The construction phase of the project provided direct employment for over 400 people.
