Faro Municipal Assembly approves transport and childcare measures

The Faro Municipal Assembly approved several proposals during its ordinary session on September 30, focusing on public transport, family support, and climate action.

Key measures approved by majority vote include the creation of a free municipal transport pass for pensioners and retirees, as well as a universal free transport proposal for the elderly. Additionally, the assembly approved the creation of a municipal ‘Cheque-Creche’ (childcare voucher) program.

Regarding environmental and strategic planning, the assembly approved the PSD’s ‘Climate Action Plan for the Municipality of Faro’ and a document regarding municipal investment and financing strategies. However, a PS recommendation concerning structural investments in the Faro municipality was rejected.
