Faroe Islands expands self-navigating car adventure itineraries
Visit Faroe Islands has expanded its self-navigating car adventure program, adding 15 new itineraries to the original 30. The initiative is designed to encourage spontaneity by using GPS to guide travelers to four to six curated landmarks over a period of three to six hours.
To prevent overcrowding and repetitive experiences, the system ensures that no two tourists receive the same itinerary at the same time. The routes are designed by local residents to provide an authentic perspective of the islands. Potential stops include cultural sites such as the Funningur Church, one of the oldest turf-roofed wooden churches in the Faroe Islands.
