Faroe Islands women's handball team selects squad for European Championship prep

The Faroe Islands women's national handball team has begun preparations for the upcoming European Championship. Coaches Claus Leth Mogensen and Simon Olsen have selected a 23-player squad for a training camp held in the Faroe Islands from September 21 to 29.

The selection includes several changes from previous qualifying matches. Four players from the April squad—Bjarta Osberg Johansen, Elsa Egholm, Natasja Hammer, and Lív Sveinbjørnsdóttir Poulsen—were not selected, with younger players stepping into their roles. Notably, Agatha Kjærbæk Djurhuus joins the line players following the absence of Bjarta Osberg Johansen.

Of the 23 players selected, 18 play for professional clubs abroad. Following this training camp, the team is scheduled to play two friendly matches against Austria in October, followed by matches against Norway and Denmark in November. The team's first match of the European Championship is set for December 5 against Ukraine.
