Farra d'Isonzo adopts Ethical Charter of Sport for gender equality

The municipality of Farra d'Isonzo has officially signed the ‘Carta Etica dello Sport’ (Ethical Charter of Sport) in collaboration with the Soroptimist Club of Gorizia. The initiative aims to promote gender equality and combat violence against women through the medium of sports.

The Charter focuses on improving conditions for girls and young women to practice sports by dismantling stereotypes and prejudices. Key commitments include ensuring access to adequate facilities and promoting inclusive practices to prevent young female athletes from being excluded or abandoning physical activities.

Regional Councilor Enrico Bullian has suggested that the Farra d'Isonzo model should be extended to other municipalities within the region to foster broader gender inclusion and recognition of female sports.
