Farroupilha, Brazil Begins Week-Long Environmental Program After World Environment Day

World Environment Day was observed on 5 June 2026, prompting a series of environmental initiatives worldwide. In the United States, agencies evaluated a mosquito‑release program to curb disease‑carrying insects, while the Senate advanced a US$70 billion immigration and border‑security package.

In Brazil, the municipality of Farroupilha launched a Week of the Environment running from 6 to 13 June.
