Dia do Gaúcho celebrations held across Brazil and in New York City

Various communities across Brazil and abroad celebrated the Dia do Gaúcho and the conclusion of the Semana Farroupilha through diverse cultural activities. In Rio Grande do Sul, cities such as Caxias do Sul, Canela, and Estância Velha held traditional parades, musical festivals, and equestrian events to honor regional heritage. In Taquara, the Recanto Cultural event focused on involving students and younger generations in Gaucho traditions.

In other regions, the celebration extended to Mato Grosso and Mato Grosso do Sul, highlighting the historical migration of Gauchos to these areas. Even in Roraima, the CTG Nova Querência organized a traditional parade in Boa Vista to maintain cultural roots in the far north of the country.

On an international scale, the culture was represented in New York City, where a mateada was held in Times Square. Organized by traditionalist Valéria Lessa, the event featured images of Rio Grande do Sul on LED panels and was broadcast by Rede Pampa to audiences in Porto Alegre, connecting the diaspora with their cultural identity.
