Farsala Halva Festival highlights local production and infrastructure needs
The 19th Halva Festival was held in Farsala, highlighting the region's traditional production and local identity. During the event, political figures emphasized the importance of supporting regional Greek production and entrepreneurship.
Former Deputy Minister of Rural Development and Food Vasilis Kokkalis addressed three critical issues for the area's future: the official certification of Farsala halva to increase its added value, the need to resolve the town's road isolation, and challenges facing the primary sector. Kokkalis noted the paradox that despite being geographically central, Farsala suffers from accessibility issues, suggesting that connecting the PATHE highway with the E65 is essential to end this isolation.
