Faruk Kaya faces investigation for misuse of state resources

The Turkish Ministry of National Education has launched an investigation into Faruk Kaya, the District Director of National Education in Fethiye, Muğla, following allegations of misusing state resources for personal family benefit.

Reports indicate that Kaya allegedly assigned an official vehicle and a driver to his wife, who was observed using them to travel to the Public Education Center. Additionally, Kaya is accused of establishing a protocol with the DCI Fethiye Oral and Dental Health Center, a private clinic where his daughter works as a dentist. This protocol reportedly offered discounts to staff, families, and local teachers, with documentation prepared for distribution to all schools.

The Ministry has dispatched two inspectors to conduct a multi-faceted inquiry. The investigation will examine the specific purposes and locations of the official vehicle's use and determine if the driver was irregularly assigned. The probe will be conducted under the provisions of Vehicle Law No. 237, which prohibits the use of public vehicles for purposes other than their intended official functions.
