Fashion brands Margaux and Dior integrate literature into brand strategy

The fashion industry is increasingly integrating literature into its branding strategies. The footwear brand Margaux, founded in 2015 by Alexa Buckley and Sarah Pierson, has successfully cultivated a community through its Footnotes book club. Launched in early 2020, the club hosts quarterly in-person events featuring prominent authors and focuses on community building rather than direct retail sales.

Dior is also engaging with literary themes through its Book Tote collection. The line features embroidered covers inspired by classics such as ‘Dracula’, ‘Madame Bovary’, and ‘Pride and Prejudice’. Reports suggest the brand may be exploring gamification via Snapchat and TikTok, allowing users to participate in literary quizzes to reveal bag visuals, though these digital activations have not been officially confirmed by Dior or LVMH.
