Fashion designers unveil Spring Summer 2027 collections

Designers are unveiling visions for the Spring Summer 2027 season, blending nostalgia with futuristic and artisanal elements.

George Trochopoulos’s collection draws inspiration from mid-20th-century retrofuturism, exploring the gap between past technological expectations and modern reality. The collection features heavy emphasis on knitwear, including knit bikinis and sheer coverups, alongside vivid colors such as lime green, racecar red, and melon yellow. The designer also experiments with various collar shapes, ranging from asymmetric to funnel styles.

Other notable trends for the season include a resurgence of fringe, as seen in Simkhai’s collection, which utilizes materials like raw silk, raffia, and optic fiber. Additionally, Retori’s ‘Syntropy’ collection, led by creative director Salma Rachid, incorporates the work of Chinese American artist Ye Zhu. This collection focuses on structural monochromatic separates, utilizing lightweight wool, draped satin, and motifs inspired by Zhu’s ‘Mending River Body’ to balance structure with fluidity.
