Fashion-Enter Ltd hosts industry meeting on UK textile procurement

Fashion-Enter Ltd (FEL) and the UK Fashion & Textile Association (UKFT) hosted an industry meeting at the Palace of Westminster to discuss public procurement opportunities for UK-based small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the garment and textile sectors.

The meeting, held under the Chatham House Rule, brought together 61 representatives from various manufacturing and supporting organizations. The goal was to address challenges facing UK manufacturers and explore how the sector can collaborate to ensure their capabilities are recognized in relevant procurement processes.

This initiative follows 12 months of research conducted with support from the Garment & Textile Workers Trust and other partners. A report detailing the economic impact of awarding public procurement contracts to UK manufacturers is expected to be released at the end of September.
