Fashion retailers TFG London, ASOS, and H&M targeted by cyberattacks
A series of recent cyberattacks targeting major fashion retailers, including TFG London, ASOS, and H&M, has highlighted growing security vulnerabilities and challenges to consumer trust in the apparel industry.
TFG London, the UK arm of The Foschini Group, reported that its IT systems for brands Phase Eight, Hobbs, and Whistles were hit by an attack on October 11, 2026. While stores remain open, the company is investigating whether sensitive personal information was compromised. Other TFG brands, such as Inside Story and White Stuff, were not affected.
These incidents follow a breach at ASOS on October 6, which prompted mass password resets after customers received unexpected mobile app notifications. Additionally, H&M is investigating claims of being targeted by the cybercriminal group ShinyHunters. Analysts from GlobalData note that hackers are increasingly employing AI-driven methods to infiltrate corporate infrastructure.
Industry experts suggest that the manner in which these companies communicate during a breach is becoming a critical test of brand governance. Vague responses and silent mitigation efforts have been noted to erode consumer trust more rapidly than the technical breaches themselves.
