Life Biosciences begins Phase I trials for ER-100 therapy
Life Biosciences has initiated Phase I clinical trials for ER-100, an experimental therapy designed to partially reprogram cells epigenetically. The goal of the treatment is to restore youthful functional patterns to aged or damaged cells without reverting them entirely to stem cells.
The FDA has authorized these human trials, which began with the first participant receiving the therapy on June 9, 2026. Currently, the research is focused on ophthalmic applications, specifically targeting eye health, though scientists are investigating its potential broader use for systemic rejuvenation.
