Fashion trends highlight knee-length skirts and floral footwear

Major fashion houses are introducing prominent new trends for the upcoming season, specifically focusing on knee-length skirts and ornate footwear during recent fashion weeks.

Knee-length skirts have emerged as a dominant silhouette. Prada opened Milan Fashion Week with 63 looks dedicated to the style, featuring structured designs in satin and wool. In Paris, Saint Laurent showcased pencil skirts, while Dries Van Noten presented glamorous mismatched motifs. Other designers following this trend include Joseph Altuzarra, Tory Burch, and Michael Kors in New York, as well as Burberry in London, and Gucci and Ferragamo in Italy.

In footwear, the ‘corsage’ trend is gaining momentum. Designers are decorating pumps, sandals, and mules with large, colorful floral embellishments. Chanel paired textured garments with abstract floral sandals, while Dior featured rosette-detailed heels. Saint Laurent also emphasized dramatic footwear, including gold-chain accents and snake-shaped heels, contrasting with the more minimalist approach seen in New York collections.
