Global fashion trends shift toward expression and gender-neutrality

The fashion industry is undergoing significant shifts in aesthetics and consumer behavior. The era of ‘quiet luxury’—characterized by minimalism and subtle branding—is giving way to more expressive styles for the 2026 autumn/winter season. Trends are moving toward increased texture, bold prints, vibrant colors, and exaggerated accessories such as large jewelry and statement belts.

Gender-neutrality is also becoming a mainstream movement. Driven largely by Gen Z, many consumers are moving away from traditional gendered clothing sections. Major brands like Gucci and Balenciaga have expanded their genderless lines, reflecting a shift where approximately half of Gen Z consumers already purchase clothing outside their designated gender category.

Additionally, there is a growing emphasis on versatility and conscious consumption. Styling techniques now focus on using foundational pieces that can be adapted for various occasions through layering and different accessories. This approach encourages building a functional wardrobe based on possibility rather than sheer quantity.
