Fast food chains expand transit-focused services in Poland

Fast food operators in Poland are implementing new expansion and service strategies focused on transit routes and shared facilities.

Mcdonald's Polska reported a 11.1% increase in sales for 2025, with a net profit of 577.9 million PLN, marking a 7% growth compared to 2024. The company plans to open more than 30 new restaurants annually, shifting its strategy toward smaller towns and locations along highways and expressways to serve transit travelers. As of late 2025, the company operated 618 locations in Poland, 571 of which are franchised.

In a different approach to transit service, Rex Concepts CEE has launched a first-of-its-kind dual-brand location in Jawornik near the Zakopianka route. The facility houses both Burger King and Popeyes under one roof, utilizing a shared drive-thru concept. This model allows customers to access different menus—such as beef burgers and chicken—within a single stop, a format previously utilized by the operator in Prague.
