Fast-food chains launch themed meal collectibles

Burger King and Jimmy John’s have introduced new limited-time meal offerings featuring collectible toys and merchandise.

Burger King has launched a Hello Kitty and Friends King Jr. Meal in the United States. The promotion includes themed packaging and one of six collectible figures—Hello Kitty, My Melody, Kuromi, Cinnamoroll, Keroppi, or a rare golden Hello Kitty—distributed in blind boxes. A specific restaurant in Downey, California, is hosting a promotional event featuring a gold claw machine where customers can attempt to win a unique 14K gold-plated Hello Kitty figure.

Jimmy John’s is also entering the themed meal market with its Triple Pickle Meal, starting October 27. Customers can select from six different Picklewich sub varieties and receive one of five Pickle Pals plush keychains: Lulu, J. J., Big John, Vito, or the rare Tom character.
