TheWrap reported that the footage was actually from a FIFA World Cup promotional spot that aired during the United States‑Belgium match, not from filming the long‑delayed sequel Fast Forever.

Universal Studios has not confirmed any filming activity, cast, or director for the finale, which is slated for a March 17, 2028 theatrical release. The studio declined to comment on the production status, and no official cast details have been released.

The incident sparked fan speculation about the franchise’s progress, but the latest information indicates that Fast Forever remains off‑schedule and its production has not yet begun.
