Fatah official warns of Judaization efforts in East Jerusalem
Yasir Abbas, a member of the Fatah Central Committee and head of foreign relations, has issued an “urgent political call” to leaders and political powers across the Arab world and globally. Abbas warned against “systematic Judaization policies” aimed at altering the Arab, Islamic, and Christian identity and historical fabric of East Jerusalem.
He specifically highlighted repeated raids on the Al-Aqsa Mosque as violations of Islamic and Christian sanctities and Palestinian rights. Abbas emphasized the necessity of protecting the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, maintaining freedom of worship, and preserving the city’s existing historical and legal status.
Additionally, Abbas reported increased attacks on Palestinian farmers during the olive harvest season. He noted that Israeli actions have included the theft of crops, attacks on activists and journalists, the uprooting of thousands of olive trees, and the destruction of homes. He called for widespread political and social mobilization to support Palestinian farmers and urged international governments and organizations to pressure Israel to halt escalating tensions in the West Bank and take action regarding the Gaza Strip.
