Fatal accidents reported in Bleiburg and Vorderstoder, Austria

Two separate fatal accidents have been reported in Austria.

In Bleiburg, a 20-year-old man walking along the edge of the B81 road near Traundorf was struck by an oncoming vehicle. Despite resuscitation efforts by a first responder and an emergency doctor, the man died at the scene. The driver fled the scene before witnesses could arrive. Police indicate the vehicle likely sustained heavy damage to its front end and are appealing to the public for information.

In Vorderstoder, a man died following a forestry accident in a high-altitude wooded area. Emergency services were alerted to a person trapped after being struck by a falling tree. The rescue operation was complicated by the danger of additional trees potentially falling. Although medical personnel attempted resuscitation, the victim could not be saved.
