Fatal and critical traffic accidents reported in Chile

Two separate traffic accidents in Chile have resulted in a fatality and life-threatening injuries.

In San Gregorio, a collision occurred on Route CH-255 between a van and a fuel transport truck near the Integración Austral border crossing. The accident resulted in the death of Luis Aguilera Millapel, a local municipal employee. Emergency responders, including Hazmat teams due to fuel spills, attended the scene. Carabineros' SIAT unit is investigating the cause of the crash.

In Curicó, a 26-year-old motorcyclist sustained life-threatening injuries following a collision with a high-end automobile at the intersection of Membrillar and Montt streets. Police are investigating two primary theories: that the car driver failed to yield at a stop sign, or that the motorcyclist was traveling against traffic. The motorcyclist was transported to a provincial hospital with complex fractures.
