Fatal car accident on SS 616 in Pedivigliano, Calabria

A fatal vehicle accident occurred on State Road 616 (SS 616) “Di Pedivigliano” in the municipality of Pedivigliano, within the province of Cosenza, Calabria. For reasons still under investigation, a vehicle veered off its trajectory and collided violently with the roadside protective barriers at kilometer 3.500.

Emergency services, including 118 medical personnel and an air ambulance, responded to the scene. Despite their efforts, the occupant of the vehicle died at the site of the impact. Law enforcement officials arrived to reconstruct the dynamics of the crash and determine the cause of the loss of control.

Anas operators were deployed to manage the emergency and secure the roadway. As a result of the incident, the SS 616 was temporarily closed in both directions to allow for investigations and safety operations.
