Fatal fires reported in Kassel and Schondorf
Two separate fatal fires have been reported in Germany. In Kassel, a caravan fire on Söhrestraße resulted in one death. Emergency services discovered a lifeless person inside the vehicle after it had burned completely. A 66-year-old man sustained burn injuries and was transported to a specialized clinic in Offenbach via helicopter; police stated his injuries are not life-threatening. Investigators from the Kassel Criminal Police and forensic experts from the Hessian State Criminal Police Office are currently working to determine the cause of the fire and the identity of the deceased.
In Schondorf, a residential house fire on Seestraße in Unterschondorf has been confirmed to have claimed the life of a 77-year-old woman. Following an autopsy in Munich, her identity was verified through dental records. Authorities noted that while the house was completely destroyed, causing approximately 500,000 euros in damage, there are currently no indications of a criminal act, suggesting the fire may have been an accident. The property remains cordoned off as criminal investigators continue their work.
