Fatal head-on collision near Motoci leaves one dead

A fatal head-on collision occurred on DN 65C near Motoci, Dolj county, resulting in the death of a 54-year-old woman from Murgași.

Preliminary police investigations suggest the accident was caused when a 71-year-old driver from Craiova entered the wrong lane and struck a vehicle driven by a 34-year-old man. The female passenger in the second vehicle died at the scene. Three men, including both drivers and a 56-year-old passenger, were injured and transported to the hospital for medical care.

The 71-year-old driver tested negative for alcohol. Authorities have opened a criminal investigation for manslaughter and bodily harm through negligence, and an autopsy has been ordered to determine the exact cause of death.
