Fatal collision near Muglizh kills three after family dispute

A fatal multi-vehicle collision occurred on the Stara Zagora–Kazanlak road near Muglizh, resulting in three deaths. The incident was reportedly triggered by a violent dispute between a father and son. According to witnesses, a 40-year-old man threw his father from the moving vehicle, dragging him for approximately two kilometers, before speeding up to overtake other vehicles and colliding head-on with an oncoming car. The victims include the driver, a woman, and an 84-year-old passenger.

The father survived the incident and is currently hospitalized in Stara Zagora in non-life-threatening condition. Unofficial reports suggest the driver may be drug-dependent. The crash occurred on a stretch of road frequently referred to as the ‘road of death’ due to its high accident rate. Local authorities and officials, including the Mayor of Shipka, have called for increased vigilance regarding drivers under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

In a separate incident on the same day, two other people were killed in a head-on collision on the Kotel–Ticha road. These two accidents contributed to a total of five road fatalities reported within a single day in the region.
