Fatal head-on collision on Route 36 in Buenos Aires Province

A 44-year-old driver, identified as Santiago David Ortiz from City Bell, died following a head-on collision with a Scania truck on Provincial Route 36. The accident occurred near the locality of Vieytes in the Magdalena district when the victim's Peugeot 206 reportedly crossed into the oncoming lane.

The truck driver, a 52-year-old from Berisso, was taken to the hospital for precautionary treatment after reporting neck and back pain. The Magdalena police station and the La Plata Judicial Department's Unit 10 are investigating the exact causes of the crash.

This incident highlights the ongoing safety concerns regarding Route 36, which has gained notoriety for high accident rates.
