Fatal highway crashes in Paraná and Pará claim multiple lives
A severe collision on the BR-369 near Jacarezinho in Paraná early Sunday resulted in two deaths and six injuries. Police reports said a Toyota Hilux and a Volkswagen SpaceFox collided rear‑end, after which a Honda Civic traveling opposite direction struck them. The injured were taken to hospitals in Jacarezinho and Cambará.
Later the same day, a crash on the BR-230 (Transamazônica) at the outskirts of Pacajá, Pará, left one woman dead and eight others hurt. The accident involved a Mitsubishi Triton pickup attempting to overtake a Volvo FH 460 truck; the pickup overturned after the driver braked to avoid an oncoming motorcycle. Survivors were transported to local hospitals for treatment.
