Austrian Alps see multiple fatal hiking accidents
Multiple fatal mountain accidents have been reported in the Austrian Alps involving hikers from various nationalities.
In Styria, two separate incidents occurred. A 22-year-old Czech woman died after falling approximately 150 meters near Großer Bösenstein while hiking with her father. In the Liezen district, a 44-year-old German man also lost his life following a fall near Rohrmoos.
In Tyrol, a 75-year-old German woman from Hessen died after slipping on wet ground and falling 60 meters in the Geigenkamm massif of the Ötztal Alps. The accident occurred in front of her family near Kitzleite.
Emergency services, including rescue helicopters and crisis intervention teams, responded to these incidents to provide medical aid and psychological support to survivors and witnesses.
