Fatal incidents reported in Nicaragua and Honduras

Several fatal incidents have been reported in Nicaragua and Honduras. In Masaya, Nicaragua, 42-year-old Henry Antonio López Pavón was found dead near the Parque de Ferias. Witnesses reported he appeared intoxicated and began foaming at the mouth before collapsing; police are investigating the cause of death.

In Chichigalpa, Nicaragua, a young man identified as José Cáceres was found dead at his residence. Preliminary reports suggest he may have become trapped upside down in his roof while attempting to enter his home, possibly under the influence of alcohol. Authorities are also investigating the possibility of suicide.

In Tegucigalpa, Honduras, 22-year-old Josué Alejandro Mejarano, a digital platform driver, was found dead inside a vehicle at a gas station. His body was discovered with hands and feet tied and showed apparent wounds from a sharp object. This incident occurs amid a broader context of violence in Honduras, which recorded 1,236 homicides in the first half of 2026.
