A 33‑year‑old Albanian rider, Maksim Sinani, died after his Kawasaki Z1000 collided head‑on with a Volkswagen Tiguan on the SS64 highway near Pistoia, Italy. The impact threw him about 50 metres, causing severe injuries that led to his death despite emergency treatment at San Jacopo Hospital and later at the Careggi Trauma Centre.
In a separate incident in Oberengstringen, Canton of Zürich, Switzerland, two Algerian men aged 25 and 26 were killed when the stolen motorcycle they were riding lost control, struck a parked truck and then slid under another truck.
